Marco Baronchelli
Based in Milano/Bergamo (IT), Marco Baronchelli (1989) initially studied classical guitar at the Conservatory of Como, after which he devoted himself entirely to the lute and basso continuo under the guidance of renowned lutenist Luca Pianca in Lugano (CH). He co-founded the ensemble filoBarocco. Holding a special interest for folk music and sound healing, Marco collaborates with a variety of international ensembles and orchestras, as well as initiating his own creative collaborations and projects with artists like Boris Savoldelli (Italian Jazz singer) and Vilja-Louise (Swedish folk singer). Marco is also regularly invited by larger ensembles and orchestras, working most recently with La Divina Armonia directed by Lorenzo Ghielmi; the Collegium Musicum Riga in Latvia directed by Maris Kupčs; and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Jordi Savall. He shared the stage with international soloists such as Maarten Engeltjes, Andreas Scholl, Sara Mingardo and Jeanine De Bique.
Marco plays a French Theorbo (Archlute) made by Luc Breton.
